What people build, community by community.

Every page here is built from the City of Calgary's open data: what people in that community have built since 2023, how long permits took, who lives there and what the land use allows. Only communities with enough permits to say something real get a page.

Where the numbers come from

Every figure is from the City of Calgary's open data: building permits issued since January 2023, development permits, the secondary suite registry, the 2021 census and the City's 2019 civic census. Each page states the date its data was retrieved. Declared values are what applicants wrote on their permits, not quotes, and they run below real costs.

A community gets a page only when it has at least 100 permits for the kinds of work that change a layout (new homes, suites, additions, garages and basements) across at least three of those project types. Communities below that line are rechecked each quarter.
